I have two of these and I love them so much! I have had canvas bags and chico bags but this one is my favorite. It is holding up better than my chico bag (which is tearing). It is so easy to roll up into the ball. I keep one in my purse all the time! I love the strap because it sits so nice on my shoulder. People who think I am a freak for always having my own bag have often been jealous because I always have it with me and can just throw stuff in it and sling it over my shoulder to keep my hands free. I also love the felt the strap to keep it from slipping. I have this bag on my Christmas list, I want many more in my car!

Trista - thanks for your response. People who like to carry their water around have many choices. Various plastics (which people are moving away from in droves due to leaching issues), various metals (some that require liners of dubious safety), and now glass! I think a lot people like yourself, may have some hesitation to carry a water bottle made of glass. We have put our bottles through some rigorous testing by dropping them from various heights and have not had one break. We have also had many excited customers get back to us with their stories of dropping their bottles and having them hold up! The only time we've ever had a customer report that their bottle broke was when the lid was off and the glass lip was exposed. So we always encourage replacing the lid when you're not drinking out of it. The silicone wrap really does a great job of absorbing any shock. Ultimately, only you know how rough you are on your water bottles. For a lot of people and the fans of these bottles - the purity and taste of the water trumps everything else. Thanks!

Despite the silicone sleeve, I'm still not sure this would survive scientific field work. What about a bottle made out of recycled plastic or something better? (I've noticed a taste in plastic water bottles that isn't unpleasant, but probably isn't safe either. It tasted like carrots to me.)
